Greetings! My name is Dr. Jeremy D Kaufman. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in 2005 and my undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2000 (O-H!). I have been licensed as a psychologist in the state of Ohio since 2007. I completed my internship at Oregon Health and Science University and my postdoctoral fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where I obtained experience with infants, toddlers, school age children, adolescents, adults, and families. In private practice, I continued work with the same population. I have had the pleasure of serving those who serve as Director of Psychological Health for the Ohio National Guard and on the medical staff at the Chalmers P Wylie VA Hospital for our veterans and military.
I have experience with neurodevelopmental disability (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), feeding problems, toileting issues, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, trauma, and military issues. I have expertise in parent training, group, family, and individual psychotherapy. I specialize in evidence-based psychotherapy (i.e. short-term treatment well-researched through randomized controlled trials). I am trained in Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Radically-Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Unified Protocol for the Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and more. I believe in careful assessment for my patients in order to determine the most effective treatment plan for them. Ultimately, the treatment is teamwork. The patient is the expert on themselves and I’m an expert on the strategies or skills to get them to where they want to be.
